Background

AGRITRADE Uganda was founded to encourage trade beyond boarders and the growth of agricultural businesses in Uganda so that we bridge the gap through collaboration and preparation of small and medium Size Enterprises in the agricultural sector for continued quality production to compete on the international market. Since we have established resilience and buffer capacity relationships with some international food and agricultural promoters and merchants, more global markets are now accessible to Ugandan farmers, producers, and exporters. However, the majority of our exporters have been dealing in agricultural product as raw commodities; just a small portion of our exporters have added value before shipping. This is in contrast to our projection, which calls for us to work with various stakeholders to create and produce high-quality, exclusively Ugandan-branded organic agricultural goods in an effort to support the Buy Uganda, Build Uganda strategy.
